What a SoniBuyout actually transfers

With a SoniBuyout you are not buying permission to use a track: you are buying the track. We assign to you, exclusively, perpetually and worldwide, every economic right we hold — both the recording side (master) and the composition and publishing side. From the moment you buy, the track leaves our catalog and can never be sold to or used by anyone else. Moral rights, meaning authorship attribution, stay with the creators: that is the law everywhere and it does not limit your commercial use in any way.

The ownership certificate

Right after payment you download a PDF ownership certificate with your name, the track title, the date and a reference to the full agreement. Every certificate carries a code that can be verified online: it is the document you show to your distributor, to a platform or to a client when they ask you to prove the track is yours.

YouTube Content ID: what you can do

Because the economic rights are yours, you are free to submit the track to YouTube Content ID through your own distributor or rights-management partner. We do not register anything in Content ID, neither for ourselves nor on your behalf: the system stays entirely in your hands, and you will never find a claim from us on your videos.

What we guarantee and what depends on YouTube
