    Whitelist Domain / Channel

Whitelisting is the act of registering a specific YouTube channel, social account or web domain with a music library so that its content-protection system does not claim uploads using that library's tracks. It is an operational workaround for automated claiming, not a grant of additional rights.

    In practice

Whitelisting is per channel and usually per subscription: it lapses when the subscription lapses, it does not extend to a client's own channel, and it rarely applies retroactively to videos already published. Agencies feel this hardest, because the asset they produce lives on someone else's channel — the very channel that cannot be whitelisted under the agency's account. Multi-market rollouts multiply the problem across local channels.

    How SoniBuyout® handles it

There is nothing to whitelist. An owned, unregistered track is not being scanned for on your behalf by anyone, so it can be published on any channel, any client account and any domain — including channels created years later — without administration.

    Real questions

    Can I whitelist a client's channel?

Usually not under your own subscription. Most libraries tie whitelisting to the account holder's channels, which is why agency deliverables are a recurring source of claims.

What happens to whitelisted videos if I cancel the subscription?

Depending on the library, protection and often the licence itself end, leaving published videos exposed. Check the post-termination clause before building a back catalogue on a subscription.
